
Washington County is a major industrial and transportation hub in the Mid-Atlantic region. Interstates 81, 70 and 68, coupled with excellent rail service, provide easy market access and distribution. The Hagerstown Regional Airport is a fully instrumented airfield with daily commuter service to major destinations. Hagerstown, the county seat and business center, is Maryland's sixth largest city and is easily accessible to both Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Bowman, FedEx Ground, First Data Merchant Services, Rayloc, Good Humor-Breyer's Ice Cream, Home Depot Direct, Berwick Offray, Phoenix Color, Review & Herald Publishing Association, Staples Distribution, Volvo Powertrain North America, and Washington County Health System.
Washington County has more than twenty industrial, technology and business parks, Foreign Trade Zone #255, and three State Enterprise Zones, including one at the airport. Major tourist attractions include the Antietam National Battlefield, the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park, and Fort Frederick State Park.
